Terms and Conditions

Effective date: June 4, 2026.

These Terms and Conditions govern access to the public ZoneProof website, public schema documents, published namespace records, related profile data, and public MCP endpoints collectively referred to here as the service.

1. Service scope

ZoneProof publishes machine-readable trust metadata and related documentation intended to help people and software evaluate DNS namespaces and associated records. The service may include raw source references, normalized summaries, search interfaces, MCP tools, and other public discovery features.

ZoneProof is an informational and interoperability service. It is not a law firm, a certification body, a financial institution, a registry operator for every namespace it references, or a substitute for direct verification from the relevant primary authority.

2. Permitted use

You may use the public service to browse, query, evaluate, test, and integrate public ZoneProof data into your own software and workflows, provided that you do so lawfully and responsibly.

3. Data provenance and third-party sources

ZoneProof may rely on registry publications, IANA records, ICANN materials, the Public Suffix List, operator websites, public policy documents, and other third-party sources. Those sources remain controlled by their respective owners and may change without notice.

ZoneProof may normalize, summarize, or classify source material for machine use. That transformation can introduce interpretation risk. If an issue is material to eligibility, compliance, licensing, transaction risk, or legal rights, you should consult the relevant primary source directly.

4. No warranty

The service is provided on an as-is and as-available basis. ZoneProof does not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, complete, current, or suitable for any particular purpose. This includes, without limitation, any warranty relating to namespace classification, credential interpretation, source completeness, or system availability.

5. No professional advice and no guaranteed suitability for compliance

ZoneProof does not provide legal, regulatory, accounting, investment, healthcare, or other professional advice. Public records and MCP responses from the service are not guaranteed to satisfy due diligence, KYC, compliance, consumer protection, or sector-specific regulatory obligations.

If your workflow could affect access to financial services, healthcare, regulated professions, eligibility decisions, or other high-stakes outcomes, you are responsible for applying appropriate human review and direct-source validation.

6. Automated use and agent behavior

ZoneProof is intended to be consumed by automated systems, including AI agents and MCP clients. You are responsible for the prompts, decisions, downstream actions, and representations made by systems you operate. A model or agent using ZoneProof data does not create any agency relationship between you and ZoneProof.

7. Availability, changes, and rate limits

ZoneProof may add, remove, rename, limit, suspend, or change public endpoints, schemas, fields, records, or MCP tools at any time. Reasonable efforts may be made to preserve continuity, but backward compatibility is not guaranteed for every experimental or pre-production surface.

We may enforce technical, operational, or security controls including logging, throttling, filtering, temporary blocks, or other restrictions where necessary to protect the service.

8. Intellectual property and reuse

ZoneProof retains rights in the service design, software, curation, and original content it publishes, subject to any separately stated repository or schema licenses. Third-party source materials remain subject to their own terms. You are responsible for evaluating whether your reuse of public data, source excerpts, or derivative analysis complies with applicable licenses and law.

9. Disclaimer on reliance

Decisions made using the service are your responsibility. ZoneProof is not liable for losses arising from reliance on a record, classification, omission, or source reference, including losses related to automation, compliance, transactions, identity decisions, or reputational harm.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ZoneProof and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, revenue, goodwill, or business opportunity arising out of or related to the service.

11. Termination or restriction

Access to the service may be suspended or restricted if use appears abusive, insecure, unlawful, or materially harmful to the service or other users.

12. Updates to these terms

These terms may be revised from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page will indicate the current version. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

13. Contact

Questions about these terms or about appropriate use of the public service can be directed through the project contact path.
